GUILT
Film Score | 2011

The score was performed live at the closing of the Glasgow Short Film Festival in 2012 by Lorcan Doherty, Ally Winford and myself. The bass shook glass from the walls, amongst other things.
Guilt is a short film written and directed by Hákon Pálsson
I collaborated closely on the development and filming of the project, creating a series of cues for the film based on a vastly time-stretched 5 second segment of a Bach piece.
The remainder of the score builds on the harmonic language of that section. Over time, I came to appreciate these pieces on their own terms—as music independent of the film.
I wrote a series of smaller pieces in the same vein which fit together with the music from the film and expanded it to an album-length work.
